Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for an innovative domestically developed interceptor drone to reinforce its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with 11 more getting ready to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Combat Situations

These UAVs utilize a nationally created system called “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. The system has been tested in actual battle and proved successful “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Zelenskyy Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spanish Capital

The Ukrainian leader is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, Madrid, on Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his trip to France, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy will convene with deputies from all houses of the legislature during his visit, an official announcement said.
