Star Denies Anti-Vax Views After Voicing Disputed Pandemic Feature
Liam Neeson has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccines and lauds ex- government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Disputed Foundation
Named "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the health crisis for claims that Covid was linked to a problematic version of the influenza shot.
Her co-author, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone radio host a known commentator. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the project.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
A spokesperson for Neeson have released a statement pushing back against claims that he supports anti-immunization sentiments.
"We all recognize that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be equated to rejection of vaccines," the comment states. "He is not, and is not, anti-vax. His long work with the UN children's agency underscores his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
It noted that the actor was not involved in crafting the film's messaging and that inquiries about its content ought to go to the producers.
Major Assertions In the Documentary
According to the documentary, the script read by Neeson makes several controversial points:
- It suggests that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to government bodies.
- It posits that "science has become highly politicised."
- Kennedy is shown claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- The film takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it references a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Historical Background and Recent Disputes
The documentary further cites a historical film about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the network for violations of guidelines.
Recently, RFK Jr instructed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism. This assertion is also referenced in the documentary, despite a recent study from the global health body confirming no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Statement of Endorsement
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.
Previously, he referred to vaccines as "an incredible triumph," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
The film ends with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the end of our journey. It is the dawn of a different phase."
