Recent Information Surface About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
New information has come to light regarding the shocking deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence residence on Sunday.
The Alarm
According to a report citing a person close to the family, a therapist arriving for an appointment initially became concerned after not being able to enter the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
When she went into the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. It is said she then fled the house in anguish, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Her roommate who had accompanied her then dialed 911. Subsequently, first responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of murder in the first degree, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.
Clarifications
The confidential informant challenged several initial details. They said that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.
Furthermore pushed back against published claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction includes reports of reportedly "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a gathering held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the discovery. While the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they asserted that reports of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports indicated the state of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the family home. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not be present until no sooner than Wednesday.
