Trent Alexander-Arnold's rehabilitation is advancing well, raising possibility that the Madrid defender could be fit soon enough to face his old team Liverpool in the upcoming European encounter.

The 27-year-old player suffered a hamstring injury while playing against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the initial phase of the tournament on 16 September.

Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the fifth minute, with early indications pointing to a potential layoff of as long as six weeks.

Real Madrid are set to play at Liverpool on 4 November for the European match—exactly seven weeks since the injury happened.

Sources close to the player's condition indicate that the defender's recovery is progressing well, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold could achieve his initial return to Liverpool's stadium after signing for Real Madrid in June.

A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold earlier remarked that departing from the team he joined as a young academy player was the "hardest decision he's ever taken."

During his spell with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold accumulated 354 games, contributing to win two English top-flight titles, a European Cup, and the domestic cup.

Since joining to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has played five times in all competitions, totaling 156 minutes of playing time.
