Iran Reports Strike on US Base in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the regime.

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
